Exclusive Curriculum

OUR PHILOSOPHY & THE CREATIVE CURRICULUM

East Roswell Preschool uses the research-based, developmentally appropriate Creative Curriculum for pre-schoolers.

Operating in this framework, our teachers are able to teach in ways that best match how young children develop and learn. We know that children best learn by doing, and the Creative Curriculum uses a developmental “hands-on”approach built around themes. Each week we address all areas of development: social, emotional, physical (large and small motor), cognitive and language development.

Each week our teachers prepare lesson plans and post them in their classroom. We maintain a healthy balance of teacher-directed and child-initiated activities in the classroom.

Our classrooms are set up in a learning center configuration which allows each child to choose his activities in different learning areas. Each learning center is supplied with different activities placed by the teachers which facilitate discovery learning.

Each day, your child will participate in large group, small group and individual activities in addition to time spent in learning centers. Each experience guides and encourages your child to learn new self-help skills, think for himself, make choices, and experiment.

The Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS) are used for lesson planning within the framework of the Creative Curriculum. The GELDS are a continuum of skills, behaviors, and concepts that children develop from birth through age 5. The continuum allows the classroom teacher to individually plan activities based on the development level of a child within each area of learning by introducing skills and concepts at the child's current level and then moving the child forward. The GELDS support the growth of the whole child (physical development and motor skills; social and emotional development; approaches to play and learning; communication, language, and literacy; and cognitive development and general knowledge).

Your child will excel at East Roswell Preschool!

The heart of our curriculum is love. We believe that love, along with a deep understanding of the individual educational and emotional needs of each child, sets our exclusive curriculum apart from the average preschool program.

We provide the best in care and education for children as young as 6 weeks to 12 years of age. Please contact us today about how we might exceed your expectations and provide your child with the solid foundation they need!

As your child continues to grow, our curriculum grows with him. At every stage of your child's journey, we develop new and challenging ways to open his mind and expand his imagination. Our foundation of love and trust is accompanied every step of the way by our teachers, parents, and your child`s peers.

In each age group, your child will discover the joy and excitement of learning science, math, language, literature, drama, music, and art through a variety of educational activities and theme-based units.

Developmentally-appropriate classrooms:

Infant and Toddler Curriculum - Six weeks through 24 months - Our youngest learners are well on their way to a lifetime of learning with our Infant-Toddler Program. Infants as young as six weeks old are involved with stimulating, hands-on play. Each activity is designed to assist your child in achieving those important developmental milestones while he has fun at the same time. Our environment is a safe place filled with love, growth, and discovery.

Preschool and Pre-K Curriculum - 2 through 5 year olds - The daily adventures continue into preschool, and with them come the stepping stones for a lifetime of learning. Our goal is to help equip your child for the challenges ahead. Supporting each child during this time in his life helps to instill a sense of confidence and accomplishment while basking in her daily successes.

School Age Program - 5 through 12 year olds - Our STEAM-based School Age Program focuses on making learning fun with intentionally planned days that are provided by our talented, motivated, and experienced teaching team. Our After-school students enjoy daily outdoor play, dedicated homework time, and weekly entertainment.
